Consumer Complaints

Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The U.S. government’s consumer protection agency that provides guidance for handling problems with things you bought at a store or online, and includes sample complaint letters and where else to find help. If you file a complaint about a business, the FTC will investigate and share their results with law enforcement.

Better Business Bureau (BBB). A non-profit consumer protection agency not affiliated with the U.S. government. If you file a complaint with the BBB, they will act as a mediator between you and the business with whom you have a problem. The BBB is also the place to go to research a business before doing buying goods or services from that business, and allows the consumer to see reviews and complaints – and that business’ response to any bad reviews and complaints.

DOE/EPA 2025 Model Year Fuel Economy Guide

Each year the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) publishes the Fuel Economy Guide to provide consumers with information about fuel economy and the benefits of using more fuel-efficient vehicles. There is an electronic version of the 2025 Fuel Economy Guide available to view or print. You may also go to the official Fuel Economy website for more options, including signing up for email updates and viewing previous year’s guides.

Investment fraud comes in many forms. Whether you are a first-time investor or have been investing for many years, the U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission shares some basic facts you should know about different at their webpage Types of Fraud at <Investors.gov>.

The FINRA For Investors page offers tips to help you manage your personal finances and set sound financial goals—and explain in plain language key investing concepts, different types of investments and investment professionals, and questions to ask. They also provide tools and calculators to help you make informed financial decisions—and show you the steps to safeguard those investments and where to turn if a problem occurs.
